My main research interest concerns the study of stress and coping with identity threats. Many identity threatening situations exist, such as discrimination and stigmatization, moral harassment, job loss, inter-cultural encounters, and more broadly, competition (for example, in academics or sports). How do people assess and cope with those situations? What effects can those situations have on identity and on the motivation to continue in an activity (e.g., work, academics, sport)? These are some questions that deserve to be studied in a social context that becomes more and more demanding for identity.
